"Winter rain in Fairbanks is rare, but it has been recorded on several occasions.
In February 2003, one of the most recent instances, 0.29 inches of rain fell on the city. The only November rain recorded in Fairbanks occurred Nov. 24, 1936 when 0.42 inches of rainfall was recorded.
The largest winter rainfall in Fairbanks occurred just a few months later, on January 20, 1937, when 0.99 inches of rain fell in the city on top of 25 inches of snow that had fallen during the previous two days, according to the National Weather Service."
